ICC’s choice means the unique schedule, according to that the particular World Cup quarterfinal matches were marked, will be changed based on where the hosts finish.
If everything goes well, than India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will play their quarter final matches at their home venue if they are able to reach knock out round and don’t face each other in quarter final round.
As per the schedule, the quarter-final matches tend to be as follow: A1 v B4 (Mirpur), A2 v B3 (Ahmedabad), A3 v B2 (Mirpur) and A4 v B1 (Colombo).
But now, according to the decision, India will play it is quarter-final complement in Ahmedabad, irrespective of exactly where they finish in Group B. The March 24 quarter-final from the Gujarat city is between third-placed team within group B and the second team within group A. Read more…
