The seventh edition of the Indian Premier League is approaching. It’s just about a week away now. The tournament will be played in two legs this year. Because of the general elections in India, the first leg will be played in the United Arab Emirates, while, the second leg will take place in India. The thing which the cricket lovers look for the most during IPL is the points table. The IPL points table contains the no. of matches played by each team in the tournament, the no. of matches won, the no. of matches lost, the total no. of points and the net run rate.

The IPL Team Standing determines which teams qualify for the play off stages. So, people always keep an eye on that standing. The positions of the teams don’t remain constant in the IPL points table. They keep changing everyday and that’s why the fans want to have a look at the table on a regular basis. The IPL points table would be a frequently searched item on web during IPL 7 as well.

The top 4 team in the IPL 2014 table would make it to the knock out round. The knockouts include two qualifiers, an eliminator and then the final. The team losing the eliminator would end up at no. 4 and the team losing the qualifier 2 would end up at no. 3. The runners up would end up at the second position, while, the top position would be acquired by the champions i.e. the winners of the final.
